"WALK  IN THE SNOWOYELH WAY”

"Snowoyelh” is… the natural Law Creator provided to us, it is the "Law of Everything”

Telmexw Awtexw is one of the three branches of the Snowoyleh Department.  Our programming and service delivery is governed by SNOWOYELH, rooted in Sts’ailes culture and is guided by the teachings of our elders and ancestors.  We practice respect for all our relations, all living things and strive to assist those who come to our centre in reconnecting to themselves, their spirit, their community; strengthening their cultural indentity and encouraging a healthy addiction free lifestyle as Aboriginal persons.

Telmexw Awtexw, a name given for our program by our respected elder, means "Medicine House for more than one person”.

Under the leadership of Chief Willie Charlie and with the support of Council, the Sts’ailes  (Chehalis Indian Band) has entered into a four year contract with First Nations and Inuit Helath. We are funded to develop and operate a residential treatment center for Aboriginal persons who are struggling with alcohol and/or drug addictions and who may or may not be on the Methadone Maintanence Program.  We currently run a 9 bed facility on a 28 day continuous intake schedule.  All participants have the option to extend their treatment program on a month to month baisis for up to six months. We have a 2 week closure in mid December and August to provide opportunity for regular professional development and allow for staff annual vacations.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The primary mission of Telmexw awtexw is to strengthen our First Nation client’s  committment to develop spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically while reducing dependency on alcohol and/or drugs.  Clients will be supported in honoring and affirming pride in their Aboriginal identify.
